This is my entry for the contest, held by *deadlulu ---> [link]
I actually just found out about this contest earlier today (like 4 hours ago) But I sooo love this concept, that I had to give it a go! And when I found this model I knew I had to do the LUST-sin!
ANY comments are truly appreciated!! - and I'll try to respond to them all!!
oh this is a really cool one. obviously the use of red being representative of lust and the representation of sin. it sort of has a very faint femme fatale look to it, but goes way beyond in that as though you're wanting it to be so representative of lust that it goes to the point of being sickening (in a good way). the multiple hands all grabbing at her in a sort of disembodied, everyman longing to consume what they desire beyond anything else. the vignetting of the piece is a nice touch in the way it exemplifies the way that this is only one out of many examples. the tiny details of the various objects in the background remind me slightly of Dante's "inferno" where he describes the various circles of hell according to the sins that the lost souls were condemned. it's incredibly interesting the way the work goes from being dream-like to being too real in various points.
